In case it's not clear why Cain immediately asks if it's another Lethian Knight; he's aware by this point (after listening to Rince, Seia and Kylie over time) that Lethian Knights are taken to the guild at a young age and rarely given chance to reside outside it until much later. So the options are pretty limited for Lethian Knights... though it's certainly not unheard of to have romantic relations outside of the guild. Just not as easily.
