Oh hey I don't have to do the water effects for a while HOW CONVENIENT
Anyway XD time for a quick history/religion lesson! I was never 100% sure how I would get in all this background information, but I hope this method works.
Yay! I love learning more about the world!:D
I love those murals! I love images like that...Like...I'm so tired now so I can't remember what they'd be called but yeah HAHAH.
I can't wait to hear this story.;D I love hearing lore like this!
Yayyy! :D <3 I'm so glad you're excited about it!! XD I'm happy to finally get it out, too!
I spent several hours straight working on the murals because I had to get them all in one row before I pulled the filter over it. It's a file too huge to mention now. XD;;; But hopefully it will all have been worth it!! <3
(I'm not sure what the word you were thinking of was... but yeah in my usual self-deprecating manner I thought, 'glorified stick-figures?' which probably wasn't what you meant XDDD)
Cain gains archaeology rep and is now the group's official sage. Lol if where they are now is related to why he was gawking at that statue during their last battle.
Hahaha, are you referring to the 'staring at stupid stuff' panel? XD; Cain was actually spacing out at the sight of a luna-bear's back. It was a mob, not a statue. XD; Sorry for the confusion (the blue filters and chibi-ness of it all probably didn't help).
But either way Cain has strong knowledge in this kind of stuff, so he can finally strut a bit of it here. XD;
Hm... are these preservation passages just dotted everywhere across Archaiea? Are there people around that maintain them? Are you going to tell me "MAGIC JUST MAGIC STOP ASKING QUESTIONS" again? ;D
The murals are gorgeous, rufi ^^ Can't wait to know more about Archaiea's origins. Sorry for being ebil ;P
LOL XD Nawwww though that might be part of my answer XD
There are preservation passages here and there, as you have surmised. :) They are maintained by some degree of protection spells against humidity (MAGIC, JUST MAGIC), and occasionally passing clerics and others with faith will spruce it up a bit if it looks dusty. XD; In general, the place is merely a passageway with pretty pictures on the walls (according to Kylie) with maybe one or two rooms that provide shelter, so there isn't much to maintain. Some mobs (usually the spirit-y kinds) have been known to inhabit a few preservation passages too. :P
(Boring history: there are none in Karat as Karat is a relatively new region compared to the others, but in general you'll find at least one within the borders of every region. Imperian regions have actually destroyed a few preservation passages throughout history though, particularly during the time they were persecuting Anjelians due to the potential influence it had in proving Anjelians were of a higher calling. The original redemption murals are currently housed in the Holy Capital.)
Wow this was a long response XD;; (I... may be procrastinating editing my novel >.>) Thanks so much for the support and lovely and kind encouraging remarks Cici <333 you may be an ebil muffin but I still luff you :D
She might have, yes. XD;; It probably went something like:
Summary: In the beginning, Aqua covered the world. And then it fell and bad and good things happened. Vio and Ardent are the two great sages who helped save everyone though, hurray!
She probably would have gotten the notes from Rince, too, and all his notes would be written like the above. Seia wouldn't have notes because he just memorises everything perfectly. :P Oh, Kylie. XD;
And a good way to bring exposition into the comic. Not that easy doing it without it feeling unnatural or creating an outside continuity comic from the start.
Thank you! :D It seemed like a good time to do it, but yeah... I'm only going to lay a basic framework here. The details will have to come later.
My own personal tiff with some RPGs I've played is the amount of exposition of the world that comes on too strong and too fast, so it may reflect in SF in the opposite end of the spectrum: barely any explanation. XD;;; But I'm trying to remedy that! Hopefully this'll help a bit!
Technically I've been working on SF on and off for over ten years now, so I've had the time to kind of extrapolate and set in stone some lore. I also did a 50 page short story maybe three or four years ago that was a prequel to the events in SF - basically, Vio and Ardent's story. That helped a lot in sealing the foundation of Archaiea before I really got cracking on updating SF again. :)

(You'll notice though that he restrains himself :> he's a good boi!)

You're world building skills are top notch.
