I completely overestimated myself this week guys XD; I'm so sorry this page is so late, I just had more on my plate than I'd imagined I would. Need to go crash in bed now, will definitely catch up on comments tomorrow. In the meantime please enjoy today's update and check out this page and the one next to that if you'd like a refresher on what exactly the Lari Oasis thing was about.
Thank you everyone for reading, and for your kind words regarding the website layout update - I'll be sure to address that in more detail when I have the energy to. XD;
P.S. Also thank you for your kind wishes regarding the move - I am now totally moved into the new flat and being a potato in it :D
XD pffff dang straight! That's why it's a ~fantasy~ :'D
Though I suppose you could argue you have to be real crafty even when herding kijinis - gotta give them a good enough reason... *waves fish cakes around*
The original script had this conversation between Jack and Gwen going on for (p)aaaaages XD just so many little things to cover comprehensively! But for the sake of not sending readers (or myself) to sleep I ended up cutting that all out. Hopefully the political strife presented on this page provides a succinct but decent enough snapshot.
Also, so very true that we underestimate moves. I know I certainly did :'D but thankfully I made it! I survived and can potato! To an extent...
Diplomacy can be a tricky business; very nuanced. Lots of details and minutia. Both of them must have been at this a while, as they mention that this is the 18th time they are negotiating here, trying to make something stick.
I like that overhead view in panel 4!
Good to hear your all moved and can go into potato mode! XD Stay safe!
Jack and Gwen have certainly been at this for a good while, though they're not necessarily the same reps that were in place when the truce talks began some time back. It's not a popular role to take, sadly. Since they accepted their respective roles, Jack has found himself somewhat viewed as a traitor by most of his Danrir peers for negotiating with the enemy, while Gwen has been on the receiving end of an awful lot of crafty Kijin leaders attempting to use her for sabotage/gain. But out of all the reps historically, Gwen and Jack take the award of Longest Lasting So Far - in large part due to them being able to build rapport with each other. Maybe they'll make something stick this time around...? ;)
Also! Thank you so much for noting panel 4 - that panel took way longer than it should have, so I'm very glad the effort paid off XD perspective, man...
And thank you once again for your kind support! I hope you're staying safe, healthy and sane too :D
And that's just in those two areas. Imagine how much more complex other Danririn and Kijini places across Archaiea are. It really feels like a major road block for a road that keeps deteriorating over time.
(On a lighter note, I see that tail wag hahaha <3)
*gently tucks in the Ruf-tato* Sweet rest-y dreams~
@Cici-muffin: Yee, you have the right of it Cici-muffin. If the Kijin and Danrir can resolve the major conflict arising between Fel and Nines, however, it would certainly mute most of the tension across other regions too, as their main beef with each other is a territorial issue... at least, it is on the outset ;) so... theoretically...? *taps chin*
(I'm very glad you noticed the tail wag! :D hee hee <3)
I believe that Ruf-tato is my deep, underlying true identity XD
Heh so it sounds more like what they need as a pro shepard to herd them all in one direction than any sort of negotiator.
Can try the Dimitri approach (Spacetrawler): get all the head authority figures in a room then lock the door and threaten to gas the place if negotiations don't start happening.
The regions are far more fractured than major leaders would care to admit out loud, but they are able to form a unified front when it comes to standing against a common enemy. This is what Jack means when he notes that the war is one of the few things keeping Fel and Nines together. Without the war, it might become even harder to herd them :')

@a/n: *comforts* moves are easily underestimated...
rest well, Rufi =)
You are welcome - great you are moved in and are able to potato around again =)
Also, so very true that we underestimate moves. I know I certainly did :'D but thankfully I made it! I survived and can potato! To an extent...
Thank you very much for your support XD
